This a ~1 hour trunk show presentation is available for guilds and small groups. $200

Join Liz as she takes you through her journey using 60 degree triangles to make hexies that produced a variety of quilts. Her journey touched on One Block Wonders, Stack-and-Whacks, and has evolved into her original design Hexified Panel Quilts, a hybrid that merges techniques learned along the way.

Workshops

Hexified Panel Workshop

This is a 2-day workshop. $75 per person, minimum 5. Larger groups of 10-15, $750 flat fee. Venue must be large enough to accommodate a sewing station for each student, plus several portable design walls and ironing stations. Great option for retreat settings!

Learn how to turn seven fabric panels into a Hexified Panel Quilt using Liz's twist on the One Block Wonder technique. Liz will give tips that will make the assembly process easier, demonstrate how she builds her color flow around the central panel, as well as give instruction on how the rows build into sections with NO Y-seams, and how the sections go together for final construction. Pillow panels (~12-18" squares) to make a mini/wall hanging are recommended for the weekend workshops. Kits are available for purchase at the workshop.

Mini-Hexified Panel Workshop

This 1-day workshop can be scheduled in conjunction with a guild trunk show or as a stand-alone. $45 per person, minimum 5. Larger groups of 10-15, $450 flat fee. Venue must be large enough to accommodate a sewing station and small designing space for each student. Pre-cut mini-kit and pattern required for $25.

Using a pre-cut kit of 12-15 sets of triangles and a small block, learn how to turn seven fabric panels into a Mini-Hexified Panel Quilt. Liz will give tips on the assembly process, demonstrate building a color flow around the central panel, as well as give instruction on how the rows build into sections, and how the sections go together for final construction. The One Block Wonder technique of layering and cutting strips & triangles will be demonstrated during the workshop.

Free Motion Quilting on your Domestic Sewing Machine

This 6-hour one-day workshop is designed for beginning free motion quilters on their domestic sewing machines or sit-down midarms. Suitable for small groups, guilds, or shops with space for each student to have a sewing station for their machine. $50 per person, minimum 5

Bring your machine with snap-on surround or Sew-Steady type table, drop your feed dogs, and put on your free motion quilting foot. The day includes an overview of "need to know" basics before you start, and ample time to quilt simple designs on practice quilt sandwiches. Topics cover needles and threads, batting choices, marking tools, preparing your quilt layers, and more.

FMQ Workshop can be adapted or lengthened to 2+ days for more advance individualized guidance with whole-cloth designs or selecting quilting designs suitable for a baby quilt or throw to be quilted during the workshop. Contact me for prices for expanded multi-day workshops.

Mosaic Minis with Easy Piecing Grid

This 3-6 hour class (depending on your needs) walks you through creating mosaic quilts where all units are the same shape. Using the Tensisters Easy Piecing Grid, place your squares on the grid, fuse in place, and sew one seam per row! A few tips make it easier with excellent results of all seams matching! These are simple projects to learn the technique and will launch you into a whole new way of making quilts! The grid is available in 1", 1.5" and 2" finished squares.

2019 Costs

Expenses: Round trip mileage rate of $0.58 for 2019, plus meals. Overnight accommodations required if more than 2 hours from Baldwin City, KS 66006. Accommodations at a smoke-free motel, ground floor room preferred.

Roundtrip flights from MCI/Kansas City, MO, at best rate, plus baggage fees. I prefer direct flights to be sure checked bag of quilts arrives safely. I prefer to show real quilts, so I will check at least one bag.

I am happy to combine guild or group visits when traveling to save transportation costs. Thank you for considering me for your guild or shop presentations! Happy stitching!
